Stevia is a new natural sweetener and medical auxiliary therapeutic which is extracted from the stevia leaves (Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni).
Stevia is white powder, which tastes good, no off-smell, and can be soluble easily in water and alcohol、stable、 not easy to mildew. It is natural low-calorie sweetener whose taste is most close to Sucrose ,this is approved by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Industry in China. It has high sweetness and low calories. Its sweetness is 200-450 times higher than that of cane sugar, but its calory is only 1/300 of cane sugar. Stevia can be used in food, drink, medicine, cosmetics, wine, tobacco, and other fields, but the cost is only 30% of cane sugar. So stevia is a good substitute for cane sugar, and has been known as “The Third Sweetener Source” internationally.
In addition, a large amount of laboratory tests proved that stevia is no-toxin, no-carcinogens, and high security, and it contains 14 kinds of amino acids and more than ten kinds of trace elements, such as Iron, Zinc, Copper, Cobalt, Manganese, Molybdenum, Fluorine, Chromium , Bromine, Selenium, etc. It can prevent diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, heart disease and dental caries, etc. It is an ideal medical treatment agent.
